In short

goWhere is built to work without collecting your personal data. There are no user accounts, and we do not run ads or analytics. Anything you save in the app stays on your device. We do not have a server that stores information about you.

Information we collect

We do not collect personal information. goWhere has no sign-in, no user account, and no login of any kind.

Saved routes and bucket-list items are stored locally on your device only. They are not sent to us or to anyone else. If you delete the app, this data is removed with it.

Location. The app does not request or use your location. The map shows the places in the guide, not your position. (The iOS build declares a location purpose string because the map library references location APIs; the app itself never calls them.)

Third-party services and data

Map data — OpenStreetMap. Maps in goWhere are built from OpenStreetMap data, © OpenStreetMap contributors, available under the Open Database License (ODbL). See openstreetmap.org/copyright.

Map downloads — tiles.gowhere.uk. When you unlock a city, the app downloads that city's offline map file from tiles.gowhere.uk, a file store hosted by Cloudflare. Like any web download, this involves your device's IP address and the file requested; Cloudflare may keep standard connection logs to serve and protect the service. We do not use this to identify you, and no account or identifier of yours is attached to the download. Cloudflare's handling of connection data is governed by its privacy policy: https://www.cloudflare.com/privacypolicy/.

Google Maps Platform. goWhere uses Google Maps Platform to identify places while its content is prepared. Place identifiers may be stored in the app. To the extent Google services are involved, Google's handling of any data is governed by Google's Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy.

In-app purchases — Apple and Google. City unlocks and all-access are sold through the Apple App Store and Google Play. Those purchases are processed entirely by Apple or Google; we never receive or store your payment card, billing address, or other payment details. Your purchases are tied to your App Store or Google Play account, which is how "Restore Purchases" works and how your unlocks follow you to a new device — again handled by Apple or Google, not by a server of ours. Apple's and Google's handling of that data is governed by their own privacy policies.

No analytics, advertising, or tracking. goWhere does not include analytics tools, advertising networks, or tracking SDKs. We do not build a profile of you and we do not track you across other apps or websites.

How we share data

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data, because we do not collect it.

Data retention and deletion

We do not hold personal data about you on any server, so there is nothing on our side to retain or delete. Data you save inside the app lives on your device; you can remove it by clearing it in the app or by deleting the app.

Children's privacy

goWhere is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country) and does not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights under laws such as the GDPR (Europe) or CCPA (California) regarding personal data. Because goWhere does not collect personal data, there is generally nothing for us to access, correct, or delete on your behalf. If you have questions, contact us below.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we will update the effective date above and post the new version at this address.
